As a young girl I already fell in love with dogs. I grew up together with an Airedale Terrier and a German Shepherd dog, and started training dogs from the age of 12. I also liked to visit shows already. The next dogs I had were a Briard and a West Highland White Terrier. Our dogs never lived in kennels and participated in our family life. In this way I learned a lot about character and behaviour. Also our daughters Stefanie and Carolin grew up with dogs and were able to build a strong relationship with them. In the eighties my last shepherd dog died and that left me with great sadness.

In 1989 we moved to Gernrode - East of Germany, a small idyllie village in the Harz-mountains, where you can find lots of lakes and woods.

Again we were looking for a dog and visited a show in Leipzig. And there I came across this breed I had never seen before. A group of Beardies playing outside on the lawn. What a fascinating breed.

Temperament, zest for life and charm. These Beardies belonged to the Pester family (Tailleur). We wanted to know more about this breed and so we visited the family at home. Here we totally fell in love with Bearded Collies and in 1990 we got our first black-white Beardie girl: Gustel von Tailleur

Bonny 8 weeks old
with her friend Berry.

This was the beginning of our passion !!!

Starting our own Breeding line became a reality in the following years, and how having 1 Beardie turned into having 13 you can read on the next pages.
